The Life and Calling of God’s Prophet: William Marrion Branham
William Marrion Branham (1909–1965) was a humble man chosen by God to be the Seventh Church Age Messenger as foretold in Revelation 10:7 and Malachi 4:5–6. Born in poverty in a small cabin in Kentucky, Bro. Branham’s early life was marked by hardship, sorrow, and a deep supernatural awareness. From a young age, he experienced visions and angelic visitations, signifying that his life was destined for a divine purpose.
The Message of the Hour
In the 1930s and 1940s, while most churches were divided into denominations and clung to traditions, God raised up Bro. Branham to restore the people back to the original faith. He preached repentance, water baptism in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38), the infilling of the Holy Ghost, and a call to separate from the systems of man and return to the unadulterated Word of God.
His ministry marked the beginning of the healing revivals and the prophetic movement in the 20th century. Thousands witnessed miraculous healings, discernment of secrets of the heart, and deliverance through his hands—but Bro. Branham always pointed the people to Jesus Christ, not to himself.
Resistance from Denominations
Despite the undeniable power of God working through him, Bro. Branham faced fierce resistance from denominational leaders and religious systems. He refused to be controlled by man-made organizations, declining invitations to form a new denomination under his name. He warned of the spirit of Nicolaitanism—the act of placing men and systems between God and His people.
His refusal to compromise with denominational doctrine led to rejection from mainstream churches. He was accused of heresy for preaching the Oneness of God, baptism in Jesus’ Name, and exposing the falsehood of the Trinity doctrine. Still, Bro. Branham stood firm, declaring:
“If you are truly born of the Spirit of God, you will not join up with error. You will stand for truth no matter the cost.”
A Prophet Vindicated
God vindicated His prophet through supernatural signs—a halo of Light photographed above his head in 1933, visions that came to pass with perfect accuracy, and a voice from heaven at the Ohio River declaring,
“As John the Baptist was sent to forerun the first coming of Christ, you are sent with a message to forerun His second coming.”
Bro. Branham delivered more than 1,100 recorded sermons, unveiling mysteries that had been hidden through the ages. He was the vessel God used to reveal the Seven Church Ages, the Seven Seals, and the true identity of the Bride of Christ in this end-time.
Though Bro. Branham left this earth in 1965, the Message he brought lives on and continues to call out a Bride, separated from the world, prepared for the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. His life is a testimony of obedience, humility, and uncompromising faith in the Word of God.
“It’s not me speaking; it’s Him. He’s the One doing the work. I’m just His voice.” – William Marrion Branham
